You Could End Up Like Carrie Prejean — Helpless, Naked and Looking Stupid

Bless her heart. She’s trying so hard to take a stance on an issue and make a point. Whether she’s right or wrong *cough* there is a big lesson to be learned — little people have big problems when they take on huge issues.
There are ways to make a difference that make more sense.
If Prejean really cares that much about “traditional” marriage, she could have joined an activist group. She could have started a blog (like this one). Something, anything simple and manageable. But when she decided to take the whole world on her shoulders, she not only failed, but she also shed light on how a large percentage of the American population does not agree with her stance. Support for open marriage has risen more within the past few months than it has in the past few years. Chew on that.
Now what does that have to do with being green? TAKE IT EASY, FOLKS. Not only can trying to take on too much become overwhelming, but it can be ineffective. It can make people look up and say “hey, that person is failing miserably at trying to do something — I don’t want to fail so I’m not going to do it.” But when everyone does their part, on their own individual terms, they relate to friends, family, and other people like them who will then notice, appreciate, and join in the effort. It may be only 2 or 3 people, but when those 3 people tell 3 people, thats 9. And when those 9 tell 3 more, that makes 27, And 27 becomes 81, and 81 becomes more than I care to calculate in my head. But you get the point. Grassroots movement, y’all.
